I had the honor of interviewing rapper/producer/designer NK, look forward to his upcoming CD-
Me: So first question is, for those that aren’t familiar with your music, describe it for us
NK: My music is hiphop based but includes influences from all genre of music like R&B/DNB (drum & bass)/UKG (uk garage)/reggae the list is endless!
Me: My music is hiphop based but includes influences from all genre of music like R&B/DNB (drum & bass)/UKG (uk garage)/reggae the list is endless!
NK: Yeah there’s many sounds/vibes I like within other genres so I try bring that into my production.
Me: Awesome!, and lyrically?, what inspires you?
NK: That would be things I’ve been through/know about/or witnessed as a child all the way to becoming an adult.
Me: So life’s knowledge, whether it’s first or secondhand, you have songs about your childhood?
NK: I don’t have a track that’s only about my childhood but I’ve made many references about my childhood within many tracks I’ve done.
Me: I see, so what’s your upcoming/most recent project?
NK: I got a few projects on the go at the moment, from solo projects to collaboration projects. My resent project is an EP I put together called The Intro EP available for free download/stream.
Me: And that features a couple of artist you’ve produced?
NK: It features 1 UK artist I produced by the name of LD & also features an artist from USA by the name of Bri Hall.
Me: How did you get associated with them?, can we expect more collaborations?
NK: LD is a childhood friend & Bri I met online on a music website.
More collaborations are in the pipeline from those artist & a whole lot more!
Me: Well we definitely look forward to it!, so what’s next?
NK: My next project will be a feature CD, every track will feature an artist from around the world.
At the moment I don’t have a title for the CD but all will be reviled sooner rather then later!
Me: Around the world?
NK: Yeah… I’ve already got a few features lined up for the next project from USA/UK/Italy.
Me: Oh nice!, so you’re also a designer, want to tell us some about that?
NK: I’ve always been into drawing as a child, so a few years back when I finally got photoshop I started to teach myself how to use it.
Since then I’ve been designing my own CD covers & anything other people require me to design for them.
Me: So my final question is, from reading my blog, you can tell I’m a Christian, what are your spiritual views and how do they affect your music?
NK: I’m not spiritually inclined but have nothing against followers of any kind.
Hence why I don’t write about it within my music at present but I seek to look into many religions for better understanding & knowledge.
Me: I see, thank you so much for this interview!
NK: No problem at all, much appreciated
