I had the honor of interviewing human/bones lead guitarist Dylan Weigand, please look forward to their upcoming CD
Me: So my first question is, for those that aren’t familiar with you, how would you describe your music?
DC: Our music is hard hitting rock music with some ambient influences. People who are really into distant sounding guitars and powerful vocals would really enjoy us in my opinion!
Me: And lyrically, what do you all write about?, what inspires you?
DC: Dude literally just shit that happens in life! Everybody goes through hard times and good times and it’s pretty easy to put those situations into lyrics. Doesn’t even have to be something any of us went through. Someone could tell us something that happened to them and that could spark inspiration to write a song!
Me: So life in general is the inspiration for all your songs?
DC: Maybe not all of them, but life is a pretty big topic, so a good majority of the lyrics we write are inspired from life experiences!
Me: I see, so what’s your current/latest project?, CD or tour?
DC: Right now we’re working on our debut EP with Shawn Christmas at Chango Studios B. We will have a single out from the EP very, very soon!
Me: We can expect a single this summer?, any accompanying shows?
DC: I can’t promise anything but as far as I know our single should be out next month. We’re playing a show with our friends Blessing A Curse on August 15th at Backbooth in Orlando, FL! If you need tickets you can hit us up!
Me: Pretty popular band!, is that how you got connected with Shawn Christmas?
DC: Actually all of us have been in bands that have worked with Shawn at one point. Freddy, Jacob and I worked with him in 2014 with a band called Mirror:Mirror which isn’t a band anymore, and Zach was in Blessing A Curse before they took a small hiatus!
Me: So 3/5 of you were in mirror:mirror, what sets human/bones apart from mirror:mirror?
DC: Human // Bones is a whole different band not comparable to Mirror:Mirror. However, Human // Bones shows the full potential of all the dudes in it. We’ve all improved our musicianship over the last year. We’re just focusing on what’s ahead!
Me: So other than an upcoming CD and show, what else can we expect from human/bones in the future?
DC: You can expect a lot of hustle(music-wise), energetic shows, and a lot of really cool concepts and ideas that we have come up with to stand out!
Me: Cool concepts and ideas?, anything you can share yet?
DC: Not yet brother, everything is pretty quiet right now, but very soon we should have some stuff popping up for everyone to enjoy!
Me: Well we definitely look forward to what the future brings!, so one final question for you, from reading my blog, you can tell I’m a Christian, what are your spiritual views and how do they affect your music?
DC: We all have different spiritual views but it doesn’t effect our music at all. We write music for ourselves and anyone else who can relate or get into it. We respect all religions but it has no effect on our music by any means!
Me: I see, well thank you so much for this interview!, we definitely look forward to what the future brings!
DC: No problem brother, thanks for the opportunity!
